Recently, the Qinghu Police Station in Shenzhen received hundreds of alarm calls from various parts of the country. The informants had different identities and accents, but they all reflected the same thing: the gold purchased online had not been shipped, and the receiving company had also lost contact. They were deceived.

The lost company is Shenzhen Zhongxincheng Investment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Zhongxintou), with its registered address in Longhua District, Shenzhen. Since September, this company has been selling gold in limited quantities on an app at a price of about 20 yuan per gram below the market price. This app, called Zhongxin Gold Industry, mainly sells gold and silver products and jewelry, and has caused heavy losses to hundreds of "sellers". Most victims believe that this is a specially designed scam targeting online prostitution groups.

Ai Hui Cha Example

Wu Dan, a 29 year old girl from Anhui, can be considered a loyal user of the Zhongxin Gold Industry App. She started buying gold on this app on September 17th and continued to do so until October 19th. At first, she only purchased 10 grams, but after the goods arrived, she went to a gold shop to inspect the goods, which were in full gold. I changed hands and earned about 200 yuan. Then there were 20 grams, which were transferred out upon arrival, earning 400 yuan this time. This can be compared to her job as an insurance company clerk in a fourth tier city in Anhui, where she earns easily. Afterwards, Wu Dan became uncontrollable.

In the first month, the restrictions on her turnover and earning money were limited quantity and purchase: she only sold at 10 am and 8 pm every day, with only one or two hundred items in stock. Snatching orders was a technical task, and if her speed was slow, she would not be able to get them; The second limitation is that each account can only place a maximum of two orders per day.

Wu Dan, who has been in contact with online shopping since last year, is well aware that this promotional activity may not last long. During the rush sale, she found that participating in pre-sales allowed her to place multiple orders. On October 18th and 19th, Wu Dan overdrawn 4 credit cards and Huabei, borrowed over 100000 yuan, and asked his cousin to help him buy. With his sister's over 8000 yuan, he spent a total of 334071 yuan to buy 760 grams of gold. After this gold arrives and is sold, she can earn at least 12000 yuan. But this time, Wu Dan miscalculated.

On October 23rd, the always enthusiastic manual customer service on the Zhongxin Jinye App suddenly turned into an automatic reply. The person who first sent her promotional messages no longer replied, and the WeChat group led by him quietly disbanded that afternoon. What scares Wu Dan the most is that the 760 grams of gold she snapped up are still in an undelivered state, and attempts to refund have not been accepted.

Later that day, a gold snatcher pulled her into a communication group: everyone had encountered the same situation. The communication group is constantly filled with people from all over the country who share the common label of 'bootleggers'. The Shenzhen police call this case the "10.23 fraud case".

On October 23rd, someone found the phone number of Fan, the legal representative of Zhongxin Investment. A young man contacted Fan and found him overnight. They filmed a video and posted it in the group: they appeared on the same frame, while Fan spoke Mandarin with a Sichuan accent and promised to the camera, "We are also dealing with this. I understand everyone's feelings, and I will definitely handle it for you in the next few days. The young man moved his phone and added to the camera, "I saw myself today, and they said they would ship to us tomorrow

Until the afternoon of the 24th, the gold had not yet been shipped. Many people started calling Fan and didn't get through until the 6th one. At that time, Fan just got off the plane and said he had just arrived in Shenzhen and was on his way to the company. Two and a half hours later, Fan's phone was no longer answered. It was only in the evening that news came out that Fan had just arrived at the company when he was taken away by the police for investigation.

It is reported that among the victims of this case, borrowing and looting are common, with some families involved exceeding one million yuan. As of 17:00 on November 2nd, there were already 306 people in the communication group led by the victims, who had various identities, including mothers, students, office workers, freelancers, and almost all of them were young people.

At present, the Shenzhen police are investigating this fraud case, and whether it is as the victim speculated may have to wait until the police complete the case before revealing the mystery.

Ai Hui Cha Reminder

As the saying goes, pie will not fall from the sky, and one should not trust investments such as "steady gains without losses" and "low cost high returns" as netizens say. Before investing in high returns, please confirm the true identity of the other party and ask yourself why they gave you such high returns. Behind these high returns is often a bigger scam. Investment carries risks, and financial management requires caution! Please identify legitimate channels such as banks and qualified securities companies, and do not trust investment apps pushed by strangers. If you are accidentally deceived or encounter suspicious situations, please pay attention to protecting evidence and reporting to the police.
